The cost of living is rising and Albertans are suffering.
UCP policy changes have hammered household budgets, whether it be through soaring property taxes, tuition hikes, reintroduction of costly school fees, skyrocketing car insurance, hefty utility bills or a combination of all those and more.
We are also dealing with record inflation on necessary items like gasoline and groceries, while Alberta's unemployment rate is higher than the national average, and wages remain stagnant.
Because of this, food banks across the province are struggling to keep up with demand, with a 30 per cent increase in usage. We need a better plan. One that helps every Albertan by making life more affordable.
