Defending Our Mountains & Water From Coal Mining

Our Eastern Slopes are still at risk of being devastated by open-pit coal mining.

The UCP government has left the door open for coal development that would impact our watershed that supplies drinking water for millions of Albertans, and impact fragile fish and wild habitats.

We must act now to stop Jason Kenney’s strategy to destroy Alberta’s most beautiful and distinct landscapes with open-pit coal mining. That is why Rachel Notley will be putting forward newly proposed legislation that will ban coal mining in category 1 and 2 land, and place a moratorium in categories 3 and 4 until the government legislates regional land-use plans

But we need your support. That is why we want to hear from you.

Please join us Tuesday April 13th, at 6:00p.m. to discuss our new proposed legislation and other strategies to protect our Eastern Slope from coal mining.
