Alberta Needs Help Now
Alberta healthcare workers immediately need any and all available help, said NDP Leader Rachel Notley today.
Yesterday in a news conference, Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Andrew Furey said his offer to send aid to Alberta’s hospitals was turned down by Jason Kenney.
On September 3, the UCP released modelling that indicated the high end of non-ICU hospitalizations would peak at about 700 today, September 29. In reality there are 837 non-ICU hospital admissions today due to COVID-19, and another 263 Albertans in the ICU with COVID.
Yesterday, Jason Kenney revealed the province’s fourth wave may not peak for four more weeks and more than 100 additional ICU beds will be needed.
“Let me be perfectly clear to all my fellow Canadians, Alberta needs help right now. It is gross negligence that there are offers of federal help, and from other provinces, that the UCP has refused.” -Rachel Notley
